Ever since we launched Ethiack, we’ve left our Portal mostly untouched. The User Experience (UX) has been similar, and for good reason: we’ve focused solely on making an incredibly powerful Automated Penetration Tester.
But as we’ve gained more users with more complex digital infrastructures, we knew we had to do something about it. We had to give the Portal a cleaner, more intuitive experience.
And that’s why I’m introducing several new changes to the Portal that make finding visualization, asset management, and event scoping easier to understand.
The first thing you’ll notice when you log in is the new look we’ve given to the dashboard.
In one glance you’ll be able to see all that matters about your security posture: events running, new findings, and risk score. It’s useful to be able to quickly get a grasp on things without having to dive into the details.
We’ve also updated the assets screen. Now, you’ll be able to move assets in or out of scope by simply pressing a button.
For every active event, you’ll be able to select eligible assets. You can also mark assets as “Wildcards”, which simply means that any assets under that will be automatically added to scope - unless they are explicitly marked as 'Out of Scope'.
Additionally, you’ll find new asset search filters. You can now search assets by associated event, and by state regarding said event (In Scope or Out of Scope).
Try it for yourself! You’ll see how easy it is to manage assets compared to the previous Portal.
We’ve cleaned up the Events screens. You’ll now see completed, on-going, and draft events along with their details.
This is where you’ll spend most of your time, so we made sure it got a revamp.
Status, severity, and priority are now extremely easy to grasp at a glance with the new color-coded badges. Don’t forget you can select findings with the checkboxes for quickly changing their status!
A minor change we’ve added is the new menu and navigation bar. Buttons have been reorganized for simplicity on the settings page, and it’s much easier to navigate the menu.
And that’s it for the new Portal updates. While a new Portal doesn’t mean we’ll find more or more critical findings, it does make your job easier. You already got plenty of responsibility on your hands and the last thing you need is to get confused while using a security tool.
Take a look at the changes. Log in now.
